President Dr. Arif Alvi has stated once again that Pakistan is firmly resolved to effectively finish projects under CPEC, which are driving high-quality socio-economic development of the country’s more remote regions.
This was said during his visit to the Chinese Embassy today (Tuesday), during which he conveyed the sincere condolences of the Government of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan over the passing of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin to the leadership of China and the people of China. Jiang Zemin had served as President of China from 2003 to 2013.
The President expressed his profound sorrow and grief at the passing of Jiang Zemin in the condolence book that he signed after paying his respects to the late leader.
The President expressed his condolences to Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong and noted that Jiang Zemin was a brilliant leader and a visionary statesman who championed world peace and stability at the bilateral, regional, and international levels. Nong Rong was present throughout the President’s remarks.
He stated that Jiang Zemin was a great and trusted friend of Pakistan who made invaluable contributions to the strengthening of the bilateral all-weather strategic cooperative friendship between the two countries and strengthened people-to-people relations. He made these statements during an interview.
According to Dr. Arif Alvi, the friendship between Pakistan and China has stood the test of time because of their remarkable trust, understanding, strategic communication, and extensive practical cooperation.
He thanked the Chinese government and people on behalf of the Pakistani government and people for the generous support they provided during the COVID-19 pandemic and the disastrous floods that hit the country.
