The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has demonstrated its commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative by signing a number of relevant agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) (BRI). Some instances include:


In 2018, the UAE and China came to an agreement to work together on the BRI by signing a memorandum of understanding.

In 2019, Abu Dhabi Ports and China Harbour Engineering Company collaborated on BRI projects in the United Arab Emirates by signing a memorandum of understanding to work together.


DP World, based in Dubai, and China Merchants Port Holdings, based in China, inked a memorandum of agreement in 2020 to collaborate on Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects in the United Arab Emirates and other countries.


It is also important to note that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been exploring for collaboration opportunities with other nations, notably Italy, Russia, and Pakistan, for BRI projects.
